Fire fighters enter the Beaver Club dining room when the sprinkler system went off

While finishing the last morsel of my risotto and scallop dish, I turned around to see chef Alain Pignard in a downpour when the sprinkler system went off due to a heat surge. Firemen soon stormed the dining room and within an hour the meal was back on as flush diners stood to have their picture taken with the burly fire fighters. Hate to say it, but that bit of drama brought a bit of excitement to a meal that came up short in the thrill department. Report coming later, but for now check out this photo of the shower in the Beaver Club dining room. Kudos to the staff and guest chefs for cleaning up the mess of the century and carrying on like the seasoned pros they are!

Yes folks, that's water and lots of it!

Was that it, a faulty sprinkler system? The area around the kitchen smelt a bit like burnt wires.

Thanks to the sprinkler employee who came quickly from Laval to replace the sprinkler.
